Lavender Cottage is a very cosy and comfortable character stone cottage with a Victorian Vintage theme. Situated on a quiet lane in the historical part of the beautiful Village of Alton, the cottage is most suited to couples and young families looking for an excellent base from which to enjoy a relaxing break with cosy evenings by a Log Woodburning fire set in an Inglenook fireplace.

Village Shops, Post Office, Churches, Historical Monuments and several good pubs and restaurants all within walking distance. The cottage offers excellent walking from the door along The Staffordshire Way, The Churnet Valley Geotrail and many Forestry Commission routes around The Rambler's Retreat in Dimmingsdale. Alton Castle with it’s wonderful views towards the Churnet River is just through the garden gate and Alton Towers is only 2 miles away!

Victorian Vintage Welcome Tray on arrival with Tea/Coffee/Sugar/Milk and homemade cakes served on an English Bone China Tea Tray! Plenty of DVDs, CDs, books, magazines and brochures to enjoy in the cottage. Walkers and Cyclists more than welcome. A very charming and comfortable little cottage which previous Guests say they don't want to leave! Alton Towers Resort & Spa 2 miles.. Ashbourne, gateway to Dovedale and The Peak District 9 miles. After a tiring but exciting day out exploring, the nice thing about Lavender Cottage is that you can return to the cottage, leave the car behind, and walk to one of many pubs and restaurants in the village to enjoy a great evening out! Short Breaks Available. Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday start dates bookable online. Other start dates by arrangement only. Children welcome from any age.

By public transport: From Uttoxeter 7 miles. Bus to Alton. By car: M6, Junction 13. From A50 at Uttoxeter follow B5030 signs to Alton Towers. Entering Alton Village from North turn left at top of winding steep hill into High Street, past Bull's Head Hostelry, cottage is up hill on your left. If entering village from South turn right at Alton Village Hall into Hurston's Lane, at bottom of country lane turn left into Town Head, Lavender Cottage on right just before sign to Alton Castle.
